At Bible Vision Africa Outreach, we believe that no person is beyond the reach of God’s grace and no wall is too thick for the light of His Word to penetrate. Our Prison Ministry is not just about a one-time visit; it is a dedicated, long-term commitment to spiritual reformation and restorative justice.
We currently maintain an active discipleship presence in over 10 major prisons across Uganda, walking alongside incarcerated men and women as they journey toward a new life in Christ.
Our Model of Transformation
We go beyond simple Bible distribution by providing a structured pathway for spiritual growth:
- Local Language Bible Placement: We provide Bibles in the inmate’s heart language (such as Luganda, Ateso, or Acholi), ensuring that the message of redemption is crystal clear and deeply personal.
- Monthly Discipleship Curriculum: Every month, our team delivers fresh, structured discipleship materials. These resources are designed to guide inmates through foundational Christian truths, character development, and biblical life skills.
- Two-Way Correspondence: We believe in the power of being heard. Our ministry includes a robust correspondence program where we collect feedback, answer theological questions, and offer pastoral guidance through letters. This connection lets those inside know they are valued and not forgotten by the Body of Christ.
- Preparing for Re-entry: By grounding inmates in the Word, we help them develop a new identity. Our goal is that they leave prison not just as “rehabilitated” citizens, but as transformed disciples ready to serve their families and communities.
The Impact of Your Support
It costs approximately $10 to provide an inmate with a high-quality local language Bible and a full year of monthly discipleship resources and correspondence support.
“I was in prison and you visited me.” — Matthew 25:36
By partnering with this program, you are investing in the “miracle of the second chance.” You are helping to turn correctional facilities into centers of worship and preparing men and women for a fruitful life beyond the bars.
