Zion FM Radio: The Voice of Hope for Busoga & Bukedi

A Strategic Media Project of Bible Vision Africa Outreach

Radio remains the most powerful and accessible medium across East Africa, reaching into the homes, gardens, and marketplaces of the most remote communities. To complement the theological foundation of the Mount Zion Bible Institute, Bible Vision is launching Zion FM Radio. Based in Namutumba, this station is strategically positioned to serve as a lighthouse of truth for the Busoga and Bukedi subregions.

1. The Vision & Mission

  • The Vision: To see a transformed society across Eastern Uganda where every household is reached with the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • The Mission: To provide high-quality, Christ-centered broadcasting that integrates spiritual nourishment with practical community development, empowering the people of Busoga and Bukedi to thrive.

2. Strategic Positioning: Why Namutumba?

Namutumba serves as a geographical bridge between the Busoga and Bukedi subregions. By placing our transmitter here, Zion FM will reach a diverse audience of over 2 million people across districts including Iganga, Bugiri, Kaliro, Budaka, Butaleja, and Kibuku.

  • Language Reach: We will broadcast in the heart languages of our listeners—Lusoga, Lusamia, Lugwere, and Luganda—ensuring the Message is not just heard, but understood.
  • The Training Link: Zion FM serves as the “Voice” for the Mount Zion Bible Institute. Our student pastors will have a platform to practice their homiletics, share testimonies, and provide biblical counsel to a regional audience, multiplying the impact of their training.

3. Programming Pillars: “Soul and Society”

Zion FM is more than a music station; it is a community partner. Our programming is built on four essential pillars designed to uplift the whole person:

Spiritual Vitality

Deep Bible teaching and worship are at our core. Through programs like Morning Dew and The Shepherd’s Voice, we provide daily spiritual nourishment and prayer for our listeners.

Family & Health

We are committed to strengthening the African home. Shows like Healthy Homes and The Marriage Altar offer practical advice on hygiene, nutrition, and building Godly relationships.

Agricultural Growth

Recognizing that our region relies on the land, we provide practical skills for our farmers. Our Farmers’ Forum covers essential topics such as soil health, crop protection, and regional development updates.

Youth & Vocational Empowerment

To inspire the next generation, we feature programs like Skilled for Success, which highlights vocational paths in carpentry, tailoring, and digital skills, connecting our youth to the broader work of Bible Vision.

4. Community Impact & Partnership

Zion FM provides a unique opportunity for partners to invest in Massive Scale Evangelism:

  • Direct Evangelism: Maintaining a 24/7 Gospel presence in areas with limited church access.
  • Disaster & Health Alerts: Acting as a reliable channel for critical community information, from disease prevention to agricultural weather alerts.
  • Sustainable Development: Directly promoting the vocational training and community projects of Bible Vision, such as borehole drilling and educational support.

5. Partnership Opportunities

To launch and sustain Zion FM, we are inviting partners to invest in:

  • The Transmitter & Tower Fund: Helping us reach the furthest corners of Bukedi.
  • Solar Power Initiative: Ensuring 24-hour broadcasting through sustainable energy.
  • Program Sponsorship: Directly funding specific segments like “The Farmers’ Forum” or “The Children’s Bible Hour.”
